Ramblers: Wind 1 Rambler 0
10 members of the rambling group completed an 8.5 mile walk yesterday starting at Jumbles Country Park near Bolton. Opened in 1971 by Queen Elizabeth II, the area has some lovely walking trails around the first of the reservoirs we passed today. Our route started on relatively flat wide paths travelling along the side of the reservoir. Recent rains had made some of the paths quite muddy although this was nothing compared to some of our recent rambles. Continue reading

Plas Newydd Anglesey and Tweedmill Wales
A garden visit to Plas Newydd Anglesey has been arranged for Wednesday 24th July 2024 and Tweedmill in North Wales. Plas Newydd is a National Trust Grade 1 listed house and garden situated on the banks of the Menai Straits. We will be able to explore the house and wander through the Grade 1 listed garden, there is something for everyone. There is a tearoom and gift shop. We will stop first at Tweedmill and have time to look around and maybe for morning tea/coffee.

Depart Maghull Square. – 8.30am prompt and Return Maghull Square – 6pm approx
Flicks and Friends 02.07.24
This month’s Flicks and Friends movie is ‘The Gift’.. The film was released in 2015 and is the story of a married couple, Simon and Robyn, who run into Gordo, an old classmate. Things take a turn when Gordo begins to drop in unannounced at their house and inundates them with mysterious gifts.
As always admission is free to all 60+ year olds but Age Concern are always appreciative of any donations on the day.
