Operation Mincemeat Based on a true story, during WW2, two intelligence officers use a corpse and false papers to utwit German troops.
It’s 1943. The Allies are determined to break Hitler’s grip on occupied Europe and plan an all-out assault on Sicily, but they face an impossible challenge – how to protect a massive invasion force from potential massacre. It falls to two remarkable intelligence officers, Ewen Montagu (Colin Firth) and Charles Cholmonderley (Matthew MacFadyen), to dream the most inspired and improbable disinformation strategy of the war – centred on the most unlikely of secret agents: a dead man.
What is Beacon?
Beacon is a management system designed by u3as, for u3as. It provides a simple interface for managing members, groups and finances.
The video gives you an overview of the benefits of using Beacon and is available to all u3a members that wish to take advantage of it.
AGM – May 17th 2022
EGM now cancelled
Today your committee accepted offers from 3 members to cover the currently vacant ‘officer roles’, these positions to be held until the AGM in May, where new nominations will be called for and voted on by the members.

Treasurer: Stuart Findlay.
This now allows us to cancel the EGM (extraordinary general meeting) called for on March 29th and gives us some breathing space to reorganise.
The committee will meet as soon as practically possible

TREASURER URGENTLY NEEDED
WE REALLY DO NEED A TREASURER – URGENTLY
As you are probably aware we have not yet found a new Treasurer to manage the finances of our U3A and be part of the Committee. Without a Treasurer we are finding it extremely difficult to manage the financial affairs of our U3A. As we begin to reopen, the system may become unmanageable. So it is absolutely vital that we appoint the right person to this post as soon as possible.
If you have a background or experience in finance and or accounting and would like to be part of a group of Trustees that care about our U3A and would like to rise to the challenge, please, in the first instance, contact a member of Committee, in confidence, to informally express an interest and to discuss the opportunity further. This initial expression of interest to gain more information, will NOT commit you in any way.
