The Metropolitan Police’s “Little Book of Big Scams” (5th edition) does not explicitly state its copyright information.More and more news of late regarding scams, particularly on-line. For those who missed the excellent presentation on ‘computer fraud’ there is a booklet published by the North West Regional Crime Unit that’s freely available and on line. Click link below:

With the U3A hoping to open in the Baptist Church from September 7th the Computer Group will be available again.

If you need any assistance with your computers, tablets or smart phones you can drop in and see us in the Sanctuary on Tuesday mornings between 10:00 and 11:30 am

We are also hoping to offer one-to-one help again at other times by appointment.

I have been playing with some hard disc recovery software after a drive failure.  It certainly works , giving 100% recovery of photos on a 2 TB drive that failed.

Scams again

The ‘near do wells’ are at it again.

Watch out for ‘nhs’ invites for a Covid vaccination where you are offered the jab but ‘need’ to fill in your bank details to confirm its you.  Its a scam ! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55563748

Fake news warning.  If you get an email or text about something untoward just Google the content on the Snopes website BEFORE you forward it. fake news is dangerous!
