This major exhibition of more than 120 paintings will highlight Liverpool’s significant role in the Pre-Raphaelite movement, reinforcing the city’s position as the Victorian art capital of the north.

We will be having a talk and tour at the Walker Art Gallery of this very special exhibition for which early booking at  Art Appreciation Desk at Tuesday Coffee morning (payment upon booking is essential ) as only 15 people per tour we may have to do two tours, further info to follow.

‘New Worlds’ exhibition is a first for Kirkby Gallery

This is an exhibition of work inspired by the era in which Kirkby as a New Town was built. It opens at the town’s Gallery next month and features some of the most significant works of the 60s and 70s by British artists including 19 stunning and varied artworks, which collectively demonstrate the importance of British art from the time. Kirkby Gallery  Knowsley have made yet another coup with this local lads archive material. This exhibition of material from the Willy Russell Archive at Liverpool John Moores University celebrates a selection of Russell’s work spanning five decades from early works referencing the local area, to Our Day Out, Stags and Hens, Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine and Blood Brothers. Archive film of performances, posters, playbills, handwritten notes and scripts bring his stories to life, alongside items from his own personal collection to give a rare insight into his work

JUNE TRIP TO LIVERPOOL CONTEMPORARY ARTS FAIR.

WE HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF FREE ENTRY TICKETS TO THIS EVENT AT THE ROYAL LIVER BUILDGINGS JUNE 27th /  28TH 2015 11 AM until  5PM .

There will be a varied display of art / craft work on show, many from local artists.

We have tickets for Saturday  27th  & Sunday 28th June.
