Lytham – August 17th
We hope to visit the beautiful Byzantine church, Lytham Fairhaven U.R.C, in the morning.
We are to have a tour of Lytham Hall after lunch at the nice café on site and a roam around the grounds to view the posters which are rather large and outdoors.
Shifting Sands, by Nicky Thomson, is an art trail set within the grounds of Lytham Hall. It’s a collection of 12 new works celebrating the art of the travel poster, which has strong historical links to the Fylde – the coming of the railway heralded the start of tourism for the Fylde.

All the statues you know and love?
But don’t know who did them? Well here is your chance to find out.
Looking to squeeze this in ( as we are fully booked up until then) Friday 29th July, it ends 31st July.
Who hasn’t posed by Eric Morecombe’s statue in Morecombe? Graham Ibbeson is the man who created it and many more. From Barnsley, inspired by Graham’s workshop, figures include celebrated performers such as Eric Morecambe, Benny Hill, Laurel & Hardy and for the very first time Grahams latest sculpture of Ken Dodd with Diddyman, Dickie Mint, on display by kind special permission from Lady Dodd. We should be tickled by this exhibition.
Glassworks Gallery, Barnsley is quite small so after lunch we will do a short tour of the town to spot many more of his works.
Coach to Barnsley from Maghull Square 9am.return 4pm.cost depends on numbers but wont be too much and gallery is free entry. Please book at desk on Tuesdays – Maureen
