NEW TRIP – DAY TRIPS
Our day will start in the lovely, ever popular town of Llangollen. Take your time to stroll round the busy High Street. Plenty of individually owned shops with an amazing array of Crafts and local produce including delicious Welsh Cakes. Stroll along the banks of the River Dee. Take the ancient bridge across the Dee in the centre of the town and you will see The Wharf. Here is where the horse drawn boats and a nice Tea Rooms can be found. Access is so much easier now with the newly installed steps. Good choice of coffee shops for morning coffee/cake and perhaps some lunch THEN we are off to Chirk Castle, owned and run by the National Trust. The Castle has stood here for Centuries and has a fascinating history. Amazing views and plenty of interest. There are no guided tours available but plenty of volunteers to answer all your questions. You may prefer to have your lunch here.

Day Trips Membership Renewal
On checking my Day Trip bookings I have noticed there are a couple of members who have not yet renewed their membership. The new membership year commenced on the lst April and you do need to be a member to participate in any activities There are implications for insurance etc if you are not a member. Many thanks. NEW DAY TRIP
We will start our day with a visit to the Dagfield Antique and Craft Emporium, Nr.Northwich. Established over 30 years ago at Bridge Farm, it is the largest Emporium in the North West. You can browse and if you are looking for a present with a difference this is where you will find it. There is also a selection of well stocked individual shops, a small plant area, a farm shop selling local produce and where the Cheshire Pie Company sells its’ freshly baked products and of course coffee/tea/cake opportunities. THEN we are off to Dormouse Haven Nr.Nantwich. This is a traditional tearooms with an interesting Alice in Wonderland theme. They have an excellent reputation for their food and afternoon teas. Here we can relax and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.

NEW DAY TRIP
We will be travelling to Temple Newsam near Leeds. This lovely Tudor house dates back over 500 years and we will be visiting with access to the House, Gardens and the Conservation Farm which is one of largest rare breed farms in Europe. The house is bursting with treasures, has witnessed many colourful characters and is the birthplace of Lord Darnley, whose Mother was a niece of Henry V111 and he was married to Mary Queen of Scots. We will have tea/coffee on arrival and a guided tour. Lovely gardens to browse. There are special activities on at the Farm during our visit and plenty of new lambs. There are 2 Gift Shops and a shop selling local produce, plants, ice cream etc. We will enjoy a light lunch of sandwiches, cream scone with jam.
