We will hold an “Italian Extravaganza” including some of Italy’s favourite wines
There will be the usual charcuterie , cheese , olives , biscuits etc

Arrangements are in hand to visit two venues in the Burnley area

Firstly , we will visit The Singing Ringing Tree Sculpture “Burnley’s Panopticon – a circular architectural design” , designed by Mike Tonkin and Anna Liu , winner in 2007 of the National Award of the Royal Institute of British Architects for architectural interest
Afterwards , we will visit Queen Street Textile Museum built in 1894 , the last surviving 19th century steam powered weaving mill in the world , it is a Grade 1 listed building , an included soup and sandwich lunch will be taken after which we will then have a guided tour lasting between 1 – 1.5 hours

We will look at areas of the boat yard including the history of the Oxford Canal , have a guided tour of the boat yard (see previous post for full detail) the boat yard museum and a 40 minute canal cruise

We have arranged a visit to Tooleys Boat Yard at Banbury on the above date
We will have a return journey by luxury corporate coach from Maghull Square leaving at approximately 8.00am
We will be told about the history of the Oxford Canal and the Boatyard and then we will have a guided tour of the Boat Yard including the Blacksmith Forge (dated 1778 including a demonstration) , Dry Dock (dated 1778) , Carpenters Workshop , Paint Store , Belt Driven Machinery Shop and then view the historic wooden boat “Hardy” built in the 1940s and a look around the museum
We will then have a 40 minute canal boat ride along the Oxford Canal
Lunch ( a buffet consisting of 8 different items) will be taken in Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn
