The Garden Visits group have arranged a Christmas meal on Wednesday, 4th December 2024. We will visit Gordale Garden Centre a family run business, this is a beautiful and interesting garden centre with plenty for us to see around Christmastime and give us some festive inspiration. We will then go onto Christmas lunch.
The venue is a mystery as some people like a ‘surprise’. We offer a 3 course meal, with three choices to choose from in each course. It also includes tea/coffee and mince pie. The menu will be available at the Garden Visits table for you to choose. The cost – £46 a deposit of £15 is required (cheques made payable to – Maghull and Lydiate U3A ) the rest maybe paid later.
Depart. – Maghull Square. 9.30am and return – Maghull Square. 5.30pm approx
11 members of the rambling group set off today from Forest Hills Hotel at Frodsham to walk along part of the Sandstone Trail and the hidden crags of Frodsham Hill, before going onto the High Rocks of Helsby. The route from the hotel should have taken us across the golf course but during the recce, having searched for some time, the leaders realised the golf course no longer existed but was now a forested area!
