****Fraud Warning ****

Important News

Two of our members have today reported that a fraudulent transaction has been made on their credit cards.  The transaction for £69.99  is listed as being a payment to ‘Super Cards’ in both cases.

The two ladies do not bank with the same institution but suggest that members check their credit card statements in case a similar fraud had been committed on their account.

Possible New Group

One of our current Group Leaders has come up with a great idea for a brand new group.   During a new members’ meeting several members asked why we did not have many evening events. The answer is simple – we can’t always find venues with time slots that would suit us.

But Sue Quinn has come up with a great idea!  She is proposing to set up a Supper Club where those interested can suggest or pick a venue where they can enjoy good food, good wine and good company.

If this appeals to you let Sue know by; either putting your name down on the list on the u3a notice board or by clicking the leave a reply notice at the bottom of this notice.

10 members of the rambling group completed an 8.5 mile walk yesterday starting at Jumbles Country Park near Bolton. Opened in 1971 by Queen Elizabeth II, the area has some lovely walking trails  around the first of the reservoirs we passed today. Our route started on relatively flat wide paths travelling along the side of the reservoir. Recent rains had made some of the paths quite muddy although this was nothing compared to some of our recent rambles. Continue reading
