Architecture for Fun and Wine Tasting
Further to my post of 26/09 I have still not had the return of a bunch of keys that went missing at the coffee morning on 26/09
If any member mistakenly picked up the keys from my desk or found them around the hall (I have personally inspected several times all the areas that I had been in that morning without success) , I have agreed with Darren , the Administration Assistant for the Baptist Church that if any member has the keys but is too embarrassed to take them to the coffee morning , they can be put them in an envelope and post this through the front entrance to the Baptist Church

Kent Wine Tour
I wish to thank all 33 members who attended the above Wine Tour for there exemplary behaviour , there camaraderie and friendliness to each other
The tour went exceptionally well with a good standard of hotel , 3 very good wine tours and tastings and visits to Hever Castle , Sissinghurst , Hampton Court Palace and finally the now empty Shrewsbury Prison
There were certain members who , basically , where there on there own but everybody made them feel most welcome

Mere sands in the rain
A drizzly Thursday morning saw 8 intrepid ramblers take a stroll around the Mere Sands ‘nature reserve’ and local area. Starting from the car park we took the ‘white’ path out and across fields to the A59 and the canal bridge. The canal footpath took us past St. Marys and Fettlers wharf marinas. Running behind Rufford Old Hall we recrossed the canal and the A59 to Sandy Lane and across fields to Holmeswood and the return to the reserve car park via the ‘blue’ path.
It was warm and wet but not too bad as it was all on the level, great for folk with dodgy ankles and other limitations. We covered the very wet and often muddy 10km in just over 2.5 hours.

Bowling Group – end of season
On Monday 25th September the bowls group enjoyed their end of season competition followed by a buffet in Kensington House. A good time was had by all. Competition winners Dave Ruddle and Ann Mc Adam are pictured with the trophy.

Message from the Baptist Church.
Does anyone know who owns the blue display stands that have just turned up in the equipment cupboard ( the one we store our books in)?
They don’t seem to belong to the church and as they don’t seem to be on our inventory list it’s a mystery!!
