March Ramble

The next ramble will be on Thursday 2nd March, and will be an 8.5 mile circular walk following the War Horse route from Ormskirk via Lathom Chapel. The walk is flat and follows quiet paths, some busier country lanes and fields.  Regular ramblers have been notified of start point, but if any new members wish to join the group please contact me for information. ( pollypaws46@gmail.com). Please note this is a change to the advertised walk which cannot take place due to leaders injury.

who came along to the meeting on Monday and entered your pictures. It was a challenge finding what we consider ‘the best’. Below are the pictures we selected.

Theatre Group – Blackpool

Grand Theatre Blackpool

We are organising a trip to the Grand Theatre Blackpool on Thursday 4th May.
The show is a comedy ‘Pride and Prejudice (sort of)‘. Tickets are £38.00 including transport.

It is an afternoon performance starting at 2.30pm. We will leave Maghull at 10.00 am, which will allow time for lunch before the performance.

We expect to leave Blackpool immediately after the show at about 5.00 pm and will arrive back in Maghull at about 6.30 pm. (These times are approximate).

Practical gardening – Spring update

Hello everyone. Gardening is not far away, especially planning the garden. No doubt we all lost some of our favourite plants, l lost 50% of my tropical collection and the remaining ones that survived l am waiting for a sign of new growth.
We should be noticing an improvement next month so it’s a good time now to find a nice day and dig over the border lift and divide clumps of perennials. Any spare we could exchange between ourselves especially as we are going to notice a big rise in prices at the garden centres. l have ordered some new seed varieties l am going to sow hopefully I will share them with you .

Have you ever dreamt of stepping into a painting?   To become completely immersed in the work before you, making reality around you fade into the new world created by the artist? This is where you can!

N.B  It’s an early start. 8 am prompt from Maghull Square, including a comfort break to arrive in York   for 11.30am.

leaving 6.pm  return about 9.30 pm.

Also visit to St Michael le Belfry Church, 11.am.
Total Cost =  £36.00 including return  coach, entry to show and donation to church.

Theatre News

Tickets are now on sale for ‘The Commitments’ at the Empire Theatre on the 20th of April 2023.  The performance starts at 19:30 and tickets cost £36.00

Sadly the planned visit to see Matthew Bourne’s ‘ Sleeping Beauty’ has had to be cancelled due to lack of numbers.  Members who have booked will have their cheques shredded or returned if required.
