Nine intrepid members of the Ramblers Group met on Thursday to head into Lancashire
for a circular walk to the summit of Pendle from the lovely village of Barley.
We set off in a light drizzle that fortunately stopped after a short time but, as
we climbed higher, so our visibility was reduced by a cloak of mist.
The mist kept up until we reached the summit trig point.
Just time for a few quick photos before we huddled for a welcome packed lunch
at the stone seating near the summit.
The group descended on well made footpaths and we dropped out of the mist with
excellent views opening up as we headed into Barley and the warm cafe for hot drinks and indulgent cakes! Alan Carr
A nice ‘opener’ for the New Year. Thanks Alan.
