By now all my regular “Lunchers” will be aware that, unfortunately, this month was the last lunch outing for the foreseeable future owing to a medical problem I have.
Thank you all very much for supporting this group, you have made my efforts worthwhile. Thank you also for the card and the beautiful plant I was presented with last Sunday at The Royal. I hope it will last for a long time and will be a lovely reminder of our outings.

ts D/B/B at the Rendezvous Hotel set on the canal just outside Skipton,Gateway to the Dales. All rooms have mod cons + plus there is an indoor swimming pool and gym. One evening our dinner will be on the Hotel’s own boat meandering down the Canal. There are excursions to show case this, the largest County in England. We have just two twin rooms left. This months walk will take place in Southport. We are going to get 300 bus at 11 o’clock from the bus stop opposite the old library on Liverpool Road North. This is an easy walk and we plan to have fish and chips at the end of the walk. Margaret McLoughlin is leading this walk. Group Support will have more information if needed at the weekly coffee morning. Below is picture taken on our last walk.
Membership renewals have now closed. If you have not been able to renew your membership, unfortunately your membership has now lapsed and you are no longer deemed to be a member of Maghull and Lydiate U3A. As a result you cannot partake in any activities or trips as you no longer have valid insurance cover. We would be delighted to see you back…please attend the coffee morning at your earliest convenience where a member of the membership team will be happy to assist you to re-join. Sixteen walkers met at the Navigation Hotel in Broadheath near Altrincham, where the management had given us an exemption from the three hour maximum parking restriction and allowed us use of the “facilities”. The towpath was only a minute’s walk over the bridge from the pub and we set off along it towards Sale. Continue reading
We have had an exceptional amount of interest from members who may wish to attend our new group “Law for Fun” . In order to ensure it is a pleasurable experience for the leader and members, numbers attending the first meeting will be limited to 50. Anyone wishing to attend can obtain an allocated ticket at the Tuesday Coffee morning from the Group Support Desk for a payment of £1.50. This will cover admission and refreshments. Entry without a ticket may not be possible. The first meeting will be on 21st March at 2-4pm in Lydiate Village Hall in Lambshear Lane.
