The group support desk have recently had enquiries from members who wish to join a ukulele group. At the moment we are unable to offer this. However if there is anyone in the U3A who can play the ukulele, and would be willing to start a beginners group we would be delighted to support you. If you have this skill, please come to the group support desk on a Tuesday morning to discuss. Likewise, if a group of raw beginners wish to get together to self teach, that also could be supported.
18 members took part in the January Sunday Strollers walk and three other members joined us for Sunday lunch at Scrummies. In February we are going to walk from the Old Roan to Maghull and a shorter walk from Wango Lane to Maghull . We will have lunch at Scrummies again. This time we will have Hot Pot after thoroughly enjoying our scouse today. Further details of these monthly walks can be found on the Group Support desk at the coffee morning on a Tuesday .

Group Support would help you initially. It would be great if we could get two people willing to work together. Please contact Brenda Mckenzie on 07900525222 if you are interested in the role.
Everyone loves chocolate so we are paying a visit to the privately owned Chocolate House in Blackburn. On arrival we will have the choice of tea/coffee/juice or their very own special hot chocolate drink. This will be followed by a demonstration of how the chocolates are made, samples to be savoured and the end product will be raffled off. There is a chance to visit their kitchens to see production and special commissions in process. There are lots of lovely chocolate novelties and with

The first ramble of 2019 took place yesterday ably led by Alan Carr. Setting off from the lovely village of Croston, the group trekked across open countryside through to the village of Eccleston, and then onward in a circular route to complete the 8 mile ramble. Although the day was cold, it was clear, but the recent rain made the going very heavy underfoot with lots of mud in places. An encounter with a group of horses, one being very bad tempered, gave a little more excitement than we had bargained for, but the least said about that here, the better! Thanks to Alan for organising the ramble and lunch. The next ramble is on Thursday 7th February, to West Kirby. Details to follow.
