Philosophy
Our last meeting saw us examining The Philosophy of Education where we looked at the thinking behind policies that determine how, why and what children are taught in schools
We also looked at the Types of Intelligence using a very clear article by Mark Vital.
An excellent session.

Sunday strollers @ L20
Sunday saw us on packed train to Moorfields station. A slow meander out of town to the canal locks and footpath where we strolled to Millers Bridge and L20 restaurant.
The reception was excellent and all the staff did their best to make us most welcome. Coats taken, we were seated with drinks and presented with two and three course menus, a small but perfectly balanced choice for a cold Winters day.
With a light airy venue, plenty of room, great staff and little pressure to finish, it turned out to be a great experience at a very reasonable cost (£14.00 for 3 courses).
L20 restaurant is a credit to the college!
Changes to Walking Group
Following discussions with members of the group it has been decided that from January 2019 there will be two distinctive walking groups. The first group will be Ramblers, who travel further afield using car share for transport and the walks will be more challenging. The second group will be Easy Walkers. This group will use public transport and will undertake shorter walks, mostly on the flat. The changes reflect the differing needs of U3A members and should accommodate the abilities of all walkers. Both groups will still walk on the first Thursday of each month.. Details of both walks will be posted on the website and on the noticeboard at the coffee morning.
Details of 2019 program can be found below. Continue reading
