NEW DAY TRIP

Our first stop of the day will be at the award winning Country Harvest, Ingleton.  Set in a beautiful location, you will find an amazing premises with an enviable reputation for quality and value.  They sell a variety of things including clothes, jewellery, homeware, a foodhall which sells freshly baked bread, local meat, cheeses  and of course, there is the lovely Cafe.  

Then we are off to Sedbergh – is it in Yorkshire or the The Lakes? It borders on both the Lakeland Fells and Yorkshire Dales National Park. It’s a quaint market town with a fine history and its’ wealth was developed through wool.  It has winding cobbled streets, historic houses, some of which have traces of the knitting and woollen industry, a Public School and is well known for its’ book shops where there is a fine selection of new and second hand. There will be time for lunch – there are one or two interesting hostelries and the quirky Mad Hatters Cafe and it is market day. Our final call is at Farfield Mill. This is a former woollen mill set over four floors and has been lovingly restored.  There is a wide variety of interest here Exhibitions – currently Betty Brown Shape of Colour and Nostalgic Forum, working looms ,Resident Artists producing a variety of goods such as Handweavers, Textiles, Silver working, Quilters, Crafters etc. etc.  There are usually some goods on sale.  Time for a last minute drink in the attractive Weavers Cafe.
