We will start our day with a visit to Leeds, one of the most vibrant Cities in the North . beginning by visiting the bustling compact City Centre. Walk up Briggate with its’ wide choice of shopping from High End Fashion in the Victorian Quarter to quaint yards off with some of the oldest fascinating pubs in the country to explore. Try Kirkgate Market, the largest under cover market in Europe and this is where M & S began. The Grade One listed Corn Exchange where you’ll find vintage fashion, quirky gifts and a lovely Cafe. Grab a sandwich and head for Leeds Minster for their free half hour organ concert at 12.30pm, and relax and enjoy your lunch in beautiful surroundings and listening to the music.There are plenty of other choices for some lunch.. You’ll find an array of interesting Museums, Art Galleries etc., including the Henry Moore Sculpture Museum Then we will be visiting the Thackray Medical Museum set in an old workhouse. Tracing progress through the ages. We will have a guided tour of a Victorian Street with its sights,smells, stories etc. Discover how treatments have changed over the years. We may even be able to remember some of the old remedies from our own childhood!!
