Walking Group Thur 7th December. Ship inn Haskayne 10:15. There are 2 walks; 5 and 8 miles. There will be an opportunity to eat at the end of the walks. It is understood that the planned bus strike on Thursday has now been cancelled but please watch/listen to local media in case of any changes. If there are any difficulties please contact Margaret Kendall this morning as lifts may be possible. The 1st walk of 2018 will be on 4th January which is before U3A restarts. Details will be posted on our website. The schedule for next years’ walks was agreed at a meeting at the end of Coffee morning today and will be placed on our website.
Theatre Group Tickets for the Philharmonic for 21st and 31st December need to be collected from the Theatre desk today. Transport for both shows will leave the square at 6.30 prompt please. Tickets for Jersey Boys must be paid for today. There is no transport for this show
Day Trips The coach for the trip tomorrow to Grange over Sands for Christmas lunch will be departing from the square at 9.30 am.

Cycling (Day Riders) Having led the original group for the last 12 years , Phil Hughes is stepping down as leader and Alan Carr will be taking over in the New Year. Phil Hughes will stay on as assistant leader . Sincere thanks to Phil for all his hard work over the last 11 years and to both Alan and Phil for carrying on in their roles of leader and assistant.
A huge personal and U3A thank you to Jane for the great night we all had at the British Legion on Friday. Jane’s thoroughness and attention to detail made for a really good night which was thoroughly enjoyed by all . Well done and thank you Jane
Next week we have the Christmas Concert to look forward to. This will be our last week – we return on the 9th January. Just a suggestion – take it or leave it – but it would be very festive if we could try and wear something red next week.
