Nordic Walking

A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

On Monday evening, our circular walk from Lydiate Parish Hall to the Cheshire Lines footpath, took us over a field where the footpath had virtually disappeared from view, as a result of the rapid growth of crops, weeds and foliage, due to the summer sun and rain. Whilst we walkers just took it in our ‘stride’, it has become somewhat of a problem, with leaders equipping themselves with secateurs in order to cut the nettles and thorny shoots that creep across the footpaths. Having said all that, it is good to enjoy the country air and scenery on a fine sunny summers evening.

Happy Nordic Walking,

Ian

Art Appreciation – Alphonse Mucha

AF1Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939) was a true ‘Art Nouveau’ master. Born in Czechoslovakia he is much underrated, being overshadowed by more renowned artists of the era. His work for Sarah Bernhardt is so recognizable you will be surprised.

We have two guided tours booked.1.30  & 2.30 on Wed. Oct 11th.      Tour is £5 plus £5 entry.   Arts council, etc. half price £2.50 entry

Nb. We have ONLY just been informed of the entry fee of £5.00, I was assured it was £5.00 total. Those who have already paid £5.00 tour fee will need to pay £5.00 on entry to the Walker Art  Gallery as will I and the rest of the group.

Sorry about this, its a faux pas on the admin side of Merseyside Galleries.
