The time has come to think about next year. As you know I am stepping down as leader, so we could do with a meeting of all members of the walking group to twist somebody’s arm to emerge as a new leader, even better would be a volunteer to take over.
It has been very noticeable that the number of walkers taking part has reduced considerably over the past year so do we need a new format? Or is it just an ageing u3a membership? Do we need to introduce more trips by car? This years proposed coach trip was an absolute disaster, only eight people signed up in a month whereas we used to have waiting lists.
All this and more can be discussed at a meeting to be arranged.
See the notice board for a date and venue.

Bill,
Several of us have already met once and I understand a meeting will be arranged in October to discuss the walks for next year which will take take the form of a ramble rather than a walk , tackling harder routes and using cars for transit. Two potential leaders have already come forward. I hope this will be the beginning of another year of more challenging walks.
