A lot of interest has been shown for this group to start and our first lunch will be at the Running Horses, a lovely local country pub set on the banks of the canal in Bells Lane, off Southport Road, Lydiate, on Sunday 5th June at l pm (arrive 12.30pm)
The price has been negotiated for a 2 course lunch at £10.

Taking advantage of the sunny day, 7 members of the pedal pushers cycling group set out as usual from Litherland Sports park. Rather than our usual tow path routes we ventured forth along Dunningsbridge Road, using the side of the road cycle ways, then took the road route towards Walton Vale and joined the Cheshire Lines path at Orrell Park. The Rev. Katy Canty, HMP Altcourse, attended the speaker meeting to describe her role as prison chaplain. She has worked at the prison for 14 years, starting her career there as a volunteer, then in adult education, which consolidated her previous career work as a teacher and eventually taking up a part time
chaplaincy role whilst studying for her ordination.
