Strollers- Moreton to Hoylake

15 members took part in a walk from Moreton to Hoylake on 17th April approx 4.5 miles.  The weather was kind to us and we had sunshine all the way.John the leader had found an excellent pub to have Sunday lunch in when we reached Hoylake.

April Foodie Group meeting

The next meeting of the Foodie Group is Thursday 21st April, 10.30 -12 at the Red House , Foxhouse Lane. This months theme is Royal Recipes, and there will be the opportunity to sample 3 different dishes.

The group is open to new members. Please contact Marg Kendall or Pat Mcguire for more details.

Non foodie Group members are also welcome to join us for lunch at 12md.

Real Ale Appreciation Group

The next meeting of the Real Ale Appreciation Group will take place on;
Friday, 29th April 2016  – 1 pm, at;
The North Western, Liverpool ‘Lime Street ‘ station.
If you wish you can have lunch here.
We will then be visiting Dr Duncan’s, The White Star and  The Globe.
 We will be using Central Station for arrival and departure.

Sunday Strollers walk 17th April

The next walk for the Sunday Strollers is 17th April .  We are meeting at Maghull Station at 10.50 to get the 11 o,clock train to Liverpool Central, were we will catch the West Kirkby train.  We will get off at Moreton and walk to West Kirkby. There is an option to shorten the walk if you wish by getting of at Meols.  The Ship Inn in Hoylake does Sunday Lunch for £6.99 and they are willing to reserve places for us, or you could bring a pack lunch.  There is no need to book onto the walk just come to Maghull station on Sunday.  If you are traveling on the Southport train meet us on on Wirral line platform at approx 11.30am so we can catch 11.35 train to West Kirkby.  We will arrive at West Kirkby at 12.05pm.

Walking Group

Thursday 7th July      Outing by coach to Barley/Pendle Hill

We propose to travel to Barley where there will be a choice of two walks.

A)   Keith Graham will lead a circular walk to the top of Pendle Hill and back down            into Barley ( fairly strenuous with a climb of approx 1000feet)

B)    Margaret Schumacher will lead a gentler walk of around 5 miles with some                uphill.

The cost will be £12 and the numbers limited to 41
If interested give your name with a five pound deposit to Bill at the walking desk. Balance to be paid by 14th June.
The coach will depart from Central Square at 9.30 and leave for home at 5.00pm
