FAENOL FAWR COUNTRY HOUSE HOTEL & ELECTRIC MOUNTAIN HYDRO ELECTRIC STATION
Our first stop will be at the Faenol Fawr Country House Hotel, St.Asaph which is a lovely Hotel set in beautiful gardens. Here we will have morning coffee and biscuits before making our way to the Electric Mountain in Dinorwig.
This is set in the midst of the Snowdonia Mountains with magnificent scenery and on the edge of Padarn Lake. There is a cafe here where we can have some lunch and a shop that we can browse. We will then take a bus ride into the heart of the mountain with a guided tour. This is one of the largest hydro electric schemes in Europe and it will be fascinating to find out how they manage our electric, the peaks and troughs of demand etc. If you’ve ever wondered how electricity gets through to your TV and kettle, now is your chance to find out.. There is an optional very short walk (you can stay on the bus) so please wear sensible shoes.
When – Friday 15th July 2016 Dep.8.30am Ret.6pm. Price: £19 inc.morning coffee/guided tour. Seats will be on sale at our table on Tuesday 5th April 2016.
