The Real Ale Appreciation Group had their first outing on 26th February, when they made a visit to Liverpool. We met in the Lime Kiln and then made our way to:
The Swan in Wood Street- When it comes to hard-rocking boozers, The Swan is the definitive Liverpool pub. From the choice of hard liquor, heavy metal orientated vintage jukebox and biker clientele, the Swan is a must-visit experience. The Roscoe Head One of Liverpool’s oldest pubs is a staple of the real ale drinkers is one of the most decorated in terms of national awards. Although small is beautiful, and this cosy little gem has been a favourite for many decades. It holds a truly impressive claim to fame as one of “the Magnificent Six” pubs across the country that have made it into every edition of the Campaign for Real Ale’s Good Beer Guide.
