14 members braved the weather and did a walk from Hightown to either Crosby or Waterloo. They were all suitably dressed and as you can see from the above photograph the group were all smiles at the beginning.

The smiles did continued and the photograph above was taken along the front. Very blowy but the rain had stopped at this point. All agreed it was a good day.  Some of the group finished the walk in Crosby where they had their pack lunch.  Seven of the group continued on to Waterloo and had Sunday lunch in Wetherspoons – excellent value at £7.69 for a roast dinner and a drink of your choice, which included wine, pint of  beer or coffee. Or you could have a cheaper option of baked potato with topping, salad and unlimited coffee for £4

Then a short walk to the station and a good connection through to Sandhills which meant we were soon home. We hope to do a walk each month, the next dates being: 21st February, 20th March, 17th April.  Due to work on the railway the next walk on 21st February will have to be local.  We will meet at Maghull Station at the same time 10.50.

Two members of Group Support attended the walk and supported John McKenzie, the new Sunday Strollers walk leader.  Details of the next walk will be put on the website nearer the time.   The walk to Crosby (station) would have been nearly four miles and the one to Waterloo 5 miles.
