Foodie Group go to L20 Hotel School

Members of the Foodie Group attended an evening with Matt Worswick (from the Great British Menu) at L20 Hotel School, who are shaping the future of the hospitality industry in the North West.  Matt worked with local student to present the following meal:

  • Smoked quinoa, cardamon yoghurt, coriander
  • Cured salmon, wasabi, pickled cucumber
  • Crisp rolled pork belly, sticky pork cheek,salt baked heritage carrots
  • Buttermilk parfait, beetroot & hibiscus sorbet

You could have a flight of wine which was an appropriate glass of wine with each course if you wanted.

You can get to the school by train from Maghull and getting off at Bootle Oriel Road and walking up to Stanley Road (10 minute walk).

Part of the ethos of the U3A is to demonstrate the benefits and enjoyment to be gained and the new horizons to be discovered in learning throughout life. On this occasion U3A members were learning but at the same time helping students getting started on their career path, so a win win for all.
