EVER WONDERED WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE IN JAIL? NOW IS YOUR CHANCE TO FIND OUT!!! Dana Jail in Shrewsbury, was built in the late l700’s and used as a working prison until recently. It has now been turned into a tourist attraction for a period of time before it is re-developed. Shrewsbury has applied to be a University Town and this building may be re-developed as part of that.. We will be travelling from the Square stopping at our tried and tested coffee venue at Morton Park Garden Centre, Chirk, which has recently been taken over by Wyevale. Time for a coffee and a general look round their wide choice of goods. Onto Dana Jail, in the centre of the lovely town of Shrewsbury, where we will have a buffet lunch followed by a guided tour. The tours are conducted by former Prison Officers who can tell us many tales.
