What we have achieved this year:
- We have attended Italian, Spanish and Caribbean demonstrations
- Attended Hugh Baird and had an overview of what they do there including kitchens and had lunch and on a later date afternoon tea,
- Supported Macmillian coffee morning
- Had picnic’s on Pride of Sefton and at 57 Deyes
- Gone for meals at Red House, Mowgli, Keiths, and of course Gores a new restaurant in Maghull. (Colin’s)
- Gone round a Chinese supermarket
The the main achievement was to cook a Chinese meal for 40 people which included 5 starters and 10 main meals under the watchful eye of Denis.
So a busy year with lots of success. We have been able to invite other members of the U3A to join some of our events. 18 of us are looking forward to going to L20 on 26th November and have various events planned for December. Lets hope next year is as successful.
Maybe other Foodie groups could be formed, some idea’s could be: cooking for one, one pot wonders, a men’s cooking group? They don’t have to run forever, maybe three sessions. If you are interested in starting another group contact Brenda McKenzie on 07900525222
