Thursday 26th March
The foodie group met today for a talk, tour and Three Course Lunch at the L20 Restaurant. Robert Graham, the general manager, met us and showed us around the kitchens, floristry area and the hairdressing salon, where we were given a gift voucher to spend at a future date. Robert was passionate about the college’s role in developing the student’s skills, confidence and readiness for the work place. Recently Nigel Haworth (Michelin starred chef and Hotel School partner) had worked with the students. He was delighted with their work ethic and expertise, saying he would be happy to employ them when they finished their course.
Lunch was a leisurely affair based on the theme of ‘Ribble Valley Inns’ with four choices for each course and containing such delights such as
Boxy Potato Cake Pork Fillet wrapped in pancetta with parsnip puree and cider jus
Ballymore Balloons with toffee sauce.
Everything was beautifully presented and the students were a credit to the restaurant.
We left, having had a lovely experience, hoping to be back for afternoon tea in the aeroplane (YES aeroplane), lunch on Sunday, a private party or a new hair do!!!!!!
Please look at their website and support these young people on their journey into employment.
